Profit = SP − CP (when SP > CP). Loss = CP − SP (when SP < CP). Profit % = profit ÷ CP × 100. If CP = 500 F, SP = 600 F, profit = 100 F, profit % = 100 ÷ 500 × 100 = 20%.

A discount is a REDUCTION off the marked price. Marked price 2000 F with 15% discount: discount = 2000 × 15 ÷ 100 = 300 F. You pay 2000 − 300 = 1,700 F.
For a shopping bill with many items and quantities, use a table. Sum each row (unit price × quantity), then sum the column. Always double-check with a mental estimate.
