Even numbers can be shared in twos with none left over: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 … They end in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. Odd numbers cannot: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 … They end in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9.

A prime number has exactly TWO factors: 1 and itself. The first primes are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19. Note: 2 is the ONLY even prime. 1 is not prime (it has only one factor).
